Identity verification for individuals (B2C)

This article is for individuals using Etherfuse directly. Before you can move money in or out, you complete a quick identity check (KYC). To cash out to a bank, you also add a bank account.

What you’ll provide (Mexico)

  • Government ID — INE (voter ID) or passport.

  • Proof of address.

  • CURP and RFC (your tax ID / Constancia de Situación Fiscal). Mexican nationals provide both.

  • Your details — full name, date of birth, email, and phone number.

  • Occupation (economic activity).

  • A liveness check — a quick face scan/selfie to confirm it’s really you. This is required.

Foreign residents in Mexico provide a valid temporary or permanent residence permit, proof of address, and both an RFC and CURP. Requirements vary by country and currency; other regions may differ.

Do I need a bank account?

Only to cash out to a bank. You can buy and hold Stablebonds without one — a bank account is required only when you want funds paid out to your bank.

  • Mexico: a CLABE (paid via SPEI).

  • Brazil: a PIX account.

Adding & validating a bank account

  • Automatic validation. When you add a bank account, a small automatic micro-deposit (about 1 cent) confirms it. Until that completes, the account shows as in review; once confirmed it becomes active.

  • Use a real bank CLABE — not an intermediary/“proxy” account, which can’t be registered.

  • One account per taxpayer ID. The system links one CLABE per RFC. Changing it later is a manual process that can take about a week, so add the account you actually intend to use.

Common questions

  • My document upload failed. Try again with a clear photo or PDF. If it keeps failing, contact support.

  • My bank account is stuck “in review.” The automatic validation deposit hasn’t cleared yet — give it a little time. If it stays in review, contact support.

Please note: the requirements above are provided as a guide and may not be complete. Exact requirements depend on your country, account type, and a risk assessment, are versioned, and can change over time. Etherfuse may request additional information or documents during review.
